The Warren County High School Lady Pioneers will get their first chance to test themselves against outside competition Thursday when they travel to Cookeville for a preseason scrimmage.
The exhibition marks the beginning of a busy stretch for Warren County, which will also compete in a playday in Williamson County Saturday before returning home for another preseason scrimmage Aug. 13. The Lady Pioneers officially open the regular season Aug. 18 at home against Ooltewah.
Coach Todd Willmore's squad returns an experienced roster from a team that finished 7-7-2 last season and closed the year playing some of its best soccer. Senior midfielder Addison Steakley, senior goalkeeper Lily Moore, senior midfielder Maci McBride and junior midfielder Noelle Bratcher headline a veteran group looking to build on that late-season momentum.
Bratcher is expected to take on an even larger offensive role after the Lady Pioneers lost leading scorer Chloe Wanamaker for the season because of a knee injury suffered during flag football in the spring.
Thursday's scrimmage will provide the first look at how Warren County's lineup is taking shape heading into the regular season, with Saturday's PlayDay and next week's home scrimmage offering additional opportunities before the Lady Pioneers kick off the 2026 campaign.
