McMinnville celebrates Fourth of July
Downtown was buzzing all morning as events took over court square in McMinnville on Independence Day. The day kicked off with pancake breakfasts being served while over 250 people took part in the 45th annual Stars and Stripes 5K and Fun Run. The day continued with the Yankee Doodle Parade and other events, like the watermelon drop, that turned out to be fun for the whole family.

Junior Auxiliary of McMinnville held its annual Yankee Doodle Parade during McMinnville’s Fourth of July festivities.
Bombs Away
McMinnville Fire Department held its annual Watermelon Drop. The event is popular amongst visitors to the square during the city’s Fourth of July festivities. Onlookers were warned about the splash zone and cautioned to stay out of it.
Cooling off!
Children took the opportunity to partake in the fountain, a popular spot during summer festivities downtown - this one being McMinnville’s Fourth of July event. This boy was asked to splash the News Editor of The Warren County Way, and he obliged. The water hit its mark.
Future firefighters?
McMinnville Fire Department handed out fire hats to children during McMinnville’s Fourth of July activities. These children, as well as many others, were delighted to have them.
