McMinnville Police Department says a report of an active shooter at TCAT was false.

According to a statement released on its Facebook page, “officers immediately responded to the campus and, after checking the facility, determined the report to be false. At no time was anyone at TCAT in danger.”

On scene with the city’s finest was Warren County Sheriff’s Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol and Homeland Security.

“The McMinnville Police Department and Homeland Security are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the call and working to determine how and where it originated,” the statement added.

When questioned by Warren County Way, McMinnville Police Chief Nichole Mosley stated that the report was not actually a call in and that more will be known as the investigation continues.

TCAT instructor Randy England says he was in the building when law enforcement arrived.

“I can’t tell you much,” he stated. “They just came in and told us to get out of the building.”

According to various sources, all Warren County Schools, Motlow State Community College and Ascension St. Thomas River Park Hospital were all placed on lockdown until the all-clear was given.

MPD expressed its appreciation for the assistance of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and Motlow State Community College Police Department, as well as the cooperation of TCAT staff and students during the response.

Additional information will be released as appropriate as the investigation continues.
