A driver was cited for running a red light, which McMinnville Patrolman Brian Holt says caused a collision at the intersection of the Bypass and Smithville Highway.

“The 2016 Ford Van was heading eastbound on the Bypass. It ran the red light, and T-boned a white 2019 Jeep Cherokee that was going north through the intersection,” said Holt.

The van, driven by Brad Rhodes, 51, was heading in the direction of the hospital, while the jeep, driven by Dianne Sneed, 73, was heading in the direction of McDonald’s.

Holt says Rhodes admitted to running the red light and was cited at the scene.

Sneed was transported to Ascension Saint Thomas Riverpark Hospital for treatment of a hit to the head and lacerations to her arm. A juvenile passenger was purportedly unhurt. Rhodes suffered unknown injuries but refused treatment.

The collision occurred at 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday.
