According to online reports, human skeletal remains have been located in White County. Sheriff Steve Page confirmed that they appeared to have been there for a long time. Identity, gender and cause of death is unknown. The remains have been sent to the medical examiner.
Speculation is that this could be Roy Whited, who went missing on May 3, 2024. The remains were located not far from where Whited lived. He, a 64-year-old pastor and basketball coach in Sparta, was last seen walking down Lovejoy Road. His truck was observed returning to his driveway around 3:30 p.m. on that day.
