First 65 students admitted free to WCHS Athletics

A comment and donation from Deborah Evans set the wheels in motion. Soon, several others in Warren County followed.
Now, through their generosity, students will have another way to support their classmates throughout the school year without paying a dime to get through the gate.
Warren County School System announced Friday morning that 65 student passes have been purchased after The Warren County Way turned in $1,300 raised by viewers and supporters to help high school students attend sporting events for free.
Evans laid the foundation for the effort during an episode of the Warren County Sports Authority, making the first donation. It didn’t take long for the community to respond, with several others pledging $100 each to make sure students could show up and support their classmates this year at Nunley Stadium, Charlie Dalton Gym and everywhere in between.
“I couldn’t be more proud of our viewers, and especially Mrs. Deborah, for helping make all of this happen,” said Chris Sullens, owner of C&S Brokerages Media Company. “Free is something we’ve brought to the table through our website and shows and our audience helped make sure many kids will experience Warren County sports for free now too.
“We don’t do these things for photo ops - We do what we do for the kids in this community.”
The passes will essentially create 65 free student admissions at Warren County sporting events throughout the school year. K-12 students who do not already have a pass will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis until the 65 available spots are filled.
The program will make its football debut Friday night when the Pioneers host Livingston Academy in their 2026 home opener at Nunley Stadium. The first 65 Warren County students to arrive who do not already have a student pass will be admitted free.
The effort will extend beyond Friday nights at Nunley Stadium. Warren County volleyball has already announced that all students can attend its home matches for free, while soccer will also admit the first 65 students who arrive without a pass. It will roll into winter sports and spring sports as well, with the goal to make it easier for students to fill the stands, support their classmates and create a stronger home atmosphere across Warren County athletics.
Students are encouraged to show up early, be loud and be proud of the Pioneers throughout the school year. Friday night will be their first chance to take advantage when Warren County and Livingston Academy kick off at Nunley Stadium at 7 p.m.
