Kaidence Crouch is taking the next step in her academic career and softball career after signing with Columbia State Community College.
Crouch’s softball journey began at an early age, as she started playing T-ball when she was 2 years old before moving into travel ball at age 10. Although her desire to play at the next level changed at times, she made up her mind during her sophomore year that continuing her career in college was something she wanted to pursue.
When Crouch was asked about where she wanted to continue her career, “I really love the coach, I really love the field,”Crouch said. “I really think that the coach would be good for me, she will definitely help boost my confidence up.”
Crouch’s development throughout her playing career has stood out to WCHS Softball coach Gooby Martin, who has had the opportunity to watch her grow over the past four years.
“She really has improved her game every year,” Martin said. “She’s made big, big steps and big leaps from middle school and it has paid off.”
Coach Martin said “Kaidence’s signing is an accomplishment worth celebrating, giving her the opportunity to continue playing the sport she has dedicated years developing.”

Offensively, Crouch is expected to play an important role for the Lady Pioneer Softball team. Coach Martin described her as a strong hitter for the program and thinks her experience and ability will bring expectations to her being a leader on the team.
Beyond the softball field, Crouch plans her academic career. She plans to study biology and pursue a pre-med track, with the ultimate goal of becoming an obstetrician and a gynecologist (OB/GYN).
While her collegiate career represents an exciting new chapter, Crouch shared some of her favorite softball memories that have come from the relationships she has built along the way.
“My favorite moment has been being able to play with my travel ball girls,” Crouch said. “They bring me a lot of enjoyment to softball, and just being around them is a lot of fun.”
With years of experience behind her and the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level, Crouch prepares to continue her passion for softball while also working towards her academic goals.
