Coach-Pitch

The Midway Monsters (6-0)
Pearsall Farms (4-3)
Smarty Pants (4-3)
MidSouth Auctions & Appraisals (2-4)
CWS (0-6)

The Midway Monsters have lived up to their name, winning big in nearly all of their contests so far this year. They’ve racked up 117 runs in their six wins, including topping 20 runs in each of their last three triumphs (24, 21 and a league-best 26 runs last week while beating Smarty Pants).

The next test comes Thursday, June 25 when the Monsters put their undefeated record on the line against MidSouth Auctions & Appraisals.

Youth

Barton Creek Farms (11-0)
Papa’s Cubs (9-2)
Rock Island Market (7-4)
Vicker’s Grave Service (5-6)
B&G Supply (4-6)
Buckeye (1-9)
Bell Farmstand (0-10)

Challengers have taken their best swings at Barton Creek Farms all year, but they keep coming up with the best responses. The young group has been unbeatable so far, piling up an impressive 11-0 record with the regular season nearing its end.

Two of the most impressive performances have come in the clutch against Papa’s Cubs, which is squarely in second place in the standings with a 9-2 mark. The first anticipated matchup between the teams - when each was still undefeated - came back on May 29 when Barton Creek Farms prevailed 25-17.

The rematch came together last week and Barton Creek Farms was at its best, rolling to an 18-2 victory.

The top group can wrap up a perfect regular season this Saturday, June 27 when it battles Bell Farmstand at 4 p.m. at Midway. Other league games this week include Rock Island Market vs. Buckeye Thursday at 7 p.m. and B&G Supply facing off with Vicker’s Grave Service at 7 p.m. Friday.

Junior Girls

Rocky River Land Management (7-0)
Pearsall Farms (4-3)
Midway Electric (3-4)
Hot Haulers, LLC (0-7)

Rocky River Land Management isn’t just running away with the Midway Jr. Girls regular-season title, it’s adding exclamation points every time it takes the field. Ever since defeating Pearsall Farms 14-7 on opening night April 28, it’s been run-rule victories for Rocky River Land Management.

Before the tournament kicks off and resets the records back to 0-0 for everybody, there is one more night of games to be played. Rocky River Land Management will go for perfection against Hot Haulers, LLC at 7 p.m. next Tuesday, June 30. At 9 p.m., Midway Electric and Pearsall Farms will square off as an early preview of what could be a first-round matchup in the Jr. Girls tournament starting after the Fourth of July.

Editor’s Note: Results from Tuesday’s games are not included in the standings.

Junior Boys

Jaclyn Davis Photography (7-0)
The Boys (4-1)
Dunn’s Nursery and Landscaping (3-2)
Smarty Pants (3-4)
Dunlap Farm (1-6)
Randy’s Games (0-5)

Rain seems to be the only thing that can stop Jaclyn Davis Photography so far in the Jr. Boys league. When the group can take the field, it has been dominant.

The team cemented its status atop the standings last week with an 11-0 win over Smarty Pants, while it also has 34-1, 14-2, 24-3 and 17-1 routs on its resume throughout the season.

One of the most action-packed leagues at Midway this year, the Junior Boys schedule will run all the way until July 4 before the tournament can kick off.

Upcoming games include Smarty Pants vs. Randy’s Games Thursday (8 p.m.), The Boys facing Dunn’s Nursery and Landscaping Friday (8 p.m.) and Jaclyn Davis Photography looking to move to 8-0 Saturday when it takes on Randy’s Games at 8 p.m.

Smarty Pants vs. The Boys will serve as the nightcap for Midway action this weekend, with first pitch scheduled for 9 p.m. Saturday.

Senior Boys

Mayhem (7-1)
Smarty Pants (6-2)
Tri-Star Lawn Care (6-2)
Triple C Nursery (3-5)
31W Insulation (1-7)
Jaclyn Davis Photography (1-7)

Don’t expect there to be any letdowns in the Sr. Boys League matchups at Midway. On any given night, three different teams have shown they can rise to the challenge of being the league’s best.

So far, Mayhem has created a sliver of separation at the top, starting 7-1 and keeping its distance from Smarty Pants and Tri-Star Lawn Care by sweeping them in matchups last week. Mayhem soared to the top of the rankings by beating Smarty Pants 18-8, then followed with a 21-20 nailbiter over Tri-Star that currently serves as the difference between first and second place.

Monday’s matchups this week were a washout, but regular-season games will return Monday, June 29 with a slate of three games starting at 7 p.m. - 31W Insulation vs. Jaclyn Davis Photography, Smarty Pants vs. Triple C Nursery and Tri-Star Lawn Care vs. Mayhem.

Senior Girls

Precision Auto Machine (6-2)
Dugout Divas (5-3)
Fuston’s Nursery (5-3)
SKG Farms (0-8)

The race for the top seed remains alive in the Sr. Girls division, but Precision Auto Machine took a major step toward securing it Tuesday night.

Precision Auto Machine moved into sole possession of first place with a 30-13 victory over Fuston’s Nursery in a matchup featuring the league’s top two teams. The win broke a tie atop the standings and gave Precision Auto Machine momentum heading into the final week of the regular season.

There is still plenty to be decided. Precision Auto Machine and the Dugout Divas are set to meet next Tuesday in a showdown that could determine first place, while Fuston’s Nursery will look to bounce back against SKG Farms. Those games are scheduled for June 30 at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively.
