Centertown Champions
Twenty-five years of Centertown Youth League softball ended with plenty of hardware being handed out.
League champions and tournament winners were recognized during last Thursday night's season-ending celebration at Centertown Recreational Park, putting the finishing touches on another summer that featured nearly 330 young athletes taking the field.
The Senior Girls division belonged to Holder Realty from start to finish. Holder Realty rolled through the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record before capping its dominant campaign by adding the tournament championship. Smith Crew Home Services finished second in the standings at 7-3, while Spring Landscape and Blueprints Quality Homes rounded out the division.

Ben Lomand Connect also completed a season sweep in the Senior Boys division. After posting a 9-1 regular-season record, Ben Lomand added the tournament title to finish atop a competitive field that included DC's Home Improvement and Douglas & Lanier Insurance.

The Junior Girls division featured one of the biggest turnarounds of tournament play. US Barn Builders finished a perfect 10-0 during the regular season to claim the league championship, but Stowers Machinery caught fire at the right time, battling through the bracket to earn the tournament title. Totherow, Haile & Welch finished third in the regular-season standings.

Junior Boys saw a similar split. Citizens Tri-County Bank earned the regular-season championship with a 9-1 record, while Sparta Metal Processing claimed tournament bragging rights after an impressive postseason run. Crisp Springs Fireworks and Jones Landscaping & Services completed the standings.

Coach Pitch proved to be the league's tightest race all summer. DOS Marias Street Food and Allgas finished tied atop the standings with identical 7-3 records to share the regular-season championship. Cherry Springs Nursery and A1 Lawnmower Repair were just one game behind at 6-4, highlighting the division's depth from opening day through the final week of the season.
