Circuit Court Judge Larry B. Stanley handed down a lengthy prison sentence on Wednesday to a man charged in a 2020 fentanyl-related death.
Ronald Eugene Welden was sentenced to 12 years in prison for facilitation of second-degree murder, a lesser charge handed down after a jury trial at the end of March of this year. He was originally charged with second-degree murder.
Jurors also handed down lesser charges of facilitation of criminally neglect homicide and attempted delivery of a schedule II controlled substance (fentanyl). For those, Stanley sentenced Welden to a consecutive sentence of 364 days in jail and a concurrent six-year sentence, respectively.
