Tune in this Friday for a 90’s experience

Dust off your flannel, lace up those docs, and take a trip back in time with Saved by the Music, a tribute band focusing on the ultimate hits of the 90’s this Friday at Main Street LIVE!

“We can’t wait; we’re excited,” said Jason Yates, bass player for Saved by the Music. “We were set to perform at Main Street Live! last year, and it got rained out. We moved into Park Theater, which was good. The guys at Parks and Rec said we would have had a larger turnout if it hadn’t rained. So, I’m hoping we get to perform outdoors this year in front of a larger crowd.”

If anyone has a no-rain dance available, now’s the time to get down and boogie. While Warren County Way doesn’t have a meteorologist on staff, a phone app states there is a 70 percent chance of rain on Friday. However, that look was taken Tuesday, June 16, at about noon, and Tennessee’s weather changes faster than a teenager’s plans.

Saved by the Music launched in 2024 and has gained quick momentum with its dynamic live music and infectious energy. Its name, a playful nod to the Saturday morning show called “Saved by the Bell,” an iconic American teen sitcom that originally aired on NBC from 1989 to 1993. Band members pay homage to the iconic sounds and styles of the musicians and performers of that era and are dedicated to recreating the magic of the unforgettable era.

“We focus mostly on 90’s rock,” said Yates. “We do play some grunge, but we kind of lean into the late 90’s, post grunge. Matchbox 20, Third Eye Blind, Everclear, E6 [Elephant 6] and those types of bands. A lot of late 90’s radio rock is our sweet spot, for sure. This is going to take people back in time.”

The band also includes vocalists and guitarists Sam Suiter and Courtney Cagle, as well as Cody Kirby on drums.

Main Street LIVE! is held on the west lawn of Security Federal Savings Bank, located at 306 W. Main Street. Music kicks off at 7 p.m., with surrounding streets slightly modified for pedestrian safety. Vendors open at 6 p.m. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy.
