Smartt Station wreck details

Charges are pending in regard to a motor vehicle wreck on State Route 55 in the Smartt Station area, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol.

By the preliminary report released by THP, 71-year-old John Robert Morton was turning westbound onto SR-55 from Smartt Station Road and struck the westbound guardrail. He was driving a 2018 Ford F-150.

No details were given as to what charges are being considered.

Morton was transported to Ascension Saint Thomas River Park by Warren County EMS for treatment of injuries sustained when he struck the guardrail, which is located across the highway from First Baptist Church. The crash occurred at approximately 12:15 p.m. today, July 23.
