School Employees Set for Raises Under Proposed Budget

Teachers, support staff and administrators in Warren County Schools are in line for pay increases. A budget proposal, already approved by the Warren County Budget & Finance Committee, is currently in place to bump up the pay of all employees for 2026-27.

The plan includes a $1,000 increase across the salary schedule for certified employees, raising the starting salary for first-year teachers to $51,500. Classified employees would receive an average 2.4% increase to their pay scale.

In a press release, the WC Board of Education also said, “in addition to the base salary increase, the Board approved an increase to annual step raises. Certified and classified employees will now receive $500 per year of experience, up from $400 - an additional $100 per step.”

The full release is below.

Director of Schools Dr. Grant Swallows said the raises are designed to recognize employees while helping the district remain competitive in attracting and retaining quality staff.

“We are proud to invest in the people who make a difference in the lives of our students every day,” said Dr. Swallows. “We are especially pleased to increase annual step raises, which rewards the experience and commitment of employees who have chosen to build their careers in Warren County Schools.”

The budget proposal now moves to the Warren County Commission for consideration and final approval.
