Leaving the Warren County Commission on Sept. 1 will be Steven Helton, Gary Martin, Donna Smith, and James Hines.
“We’ve had an election; A lot of us will be returning,” said County Executive Terry Bell. “We will have four new commissioners. We had four who decided not to run. I’ve got some plaques that I’d love to give them. I want to thank them for their service to the county. It has been a pleasure to serve with everybody here. I think we’ve had a good group.”
Bell presented each departing commissioner with a plaque of appreciation during the full Warren County Commission on Monday night.
Martin served 12 years, Helton served eight years, Smith served four years, and Hines served four years.
“Mr. Hines is not through in public service,” said Bell. “He will be moving onto our school board. Congratulations.”
Also recognized was Road Superintendent Levie Glenn. He, too, opted against seeking another term after serving 32 years. County Commissioner Steve M. Glenn accepted the plaque on behalf of his brother.
There will be a retirement reception for Levie Glenn on Monday, Aug. 31, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Warren County Highway Department.
