New public restrooms coming to Three Star Mall

New public restrooms are coming to Three Star Mall thanks to a government grant.

The restrooms will be located near the back entrance to the mall along the wall behind the arcade games in this photo.

County Executive Terry Bell said the public restrooms are part of a grant the county received to build a spacious community room behind the new Health Department. Bell said the county asked, and was granted permission, to move the restrooms from the community room project to a more central location in the mall.

The lack of public restrooms has long been an issue at the mall. There is currently a makeshift public restroom in the area which used to be The Cookie Shop.

Bell said design plans have already been generated for the new public restrooms and the project is ready to go out for bids.

It will likely still be many months before a bid is accepted, the work is complete, and the restrooms are open to the public.
