Driver cited for failure to yield in a noontime collision on Manchester Highway.

According to a Tennessee Highway Patrol preliminary crash report, a 2026 Toyota Tacoma driven by Esvin Vasquez, 54, was traveling outbound on SR-55. A 2005 GMC Sierra driven by William B. Seals Jr, 69, merged onto Manchester Highway from the onramp in the area of the Dollar General and sideswiped the Toyota Tacoma in the right-side center area.

Vasquez’s passenger, Lourdes Alvarenga, 53, was injured in the crash.

Seals was cited for failure to yield.

The crash occurred on Sept. 1 at approximately at approximately 12:40 p.m. and during a construction zone that narrowed the two-lane highway down to just one.
