According to a Tennessee Highway Patrol Preliminary Report, the driver lost control of the motorcycle.
Identified as Shylow J. Lea, 27, the report also stated that he was going westbound on Shelbyville Road when he traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a telephone pole ground wire before coming to final rest on the westbound shoulder.
He was driving a blue 2007 Yamaha Y2F 600 motorcycle.
The incident occurred on Sept. 9 at 1:25 p.m. in the area of Allendale Boulevard.
