A man accused of second-degree murder in a Fentanyl-related death is seeking to have his bond reduced.
Garland Jay Cartret was among the defendants on Warren County Criminal Court Dockets before Judge Larry B. Stanley Jr. this week. He is also facing two counts of sale of schedule II drugs (Fentanyl) and is being held on a total bond of $75,000. Stanley reset the case to Aug. 26.
Cartret was indicted by a grand jury in March of 2024. He’s alleged to have distributed the illegal substance in May of 2022 causing death. The name of the victim was withheld from court documentation.
Cases that were resolved on Aug. 11 and Aug. 12:
Linda Faye Campbell was sentenced to two years of Tennessee Department of Corrections (TDOC) probation for possession of schedule III drugs, suboxone. She must pay $2,000 and court costs.
John Hayden Crosby was sentenced to serve one year in jail for seven counts of violation of sex offender registry. He was also handed a concurrent sentence of 30 days for criminal trespass.
Curtis Frederick Crumb II was sentenced to four years TDOC for intent to manufacture, deliver, sell or possession methamphetamine. That time will run concurrently to a second case of intent to manufacture, deliver, sell or possession methamphetamine. These are to run consecutively to any prior sentences.
Thomas Clay Davis must serve 90 days for violating probation.
Joshua DeWayne Dishman must serve 270 days for violating probation. He will be allowed to furlough into an inpatient treatment facility after serving 120 days.
Ceva Jolene Goode must serve 45 days for violating probation.
Joshua Brandon Graham must serve 90 days for violating probation.
April Michelle Johnson had her probation revoked for violating the terms of her release. She must serve what remains of her sentence.
Jean Luc Keller must serve 45 days for a probation violation. That time will be consecutive to a 90-day jail sentence, as well as two years TDOC probation, for violation of the sex offender registry.
Joseph Alexander Lance was sentenced to 364 days and one year probation for sexual battery. He was also handed a consecutive two-year probationary sentence for a second count of sexual battery. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim.
Brandon Gardale Martin was sentenced to time served for a probation violation.
Benjamin Lee McCormick must serve 30 days for a probation violation.
Anthony James Pickel must serve 90 days for a probation violation.
Warren Keith Prince must serve 60 days for a probation violation.
Jamie Nacole Roach must serve 45 days for a probation violation.
Rickey DeWayne Scott must serve 45 days for a probation violation.
Dallas Gauge Shockley must serve 90 days for a probation violation.
Trey Austin Tipton was handed two years TDOC probation and must serve 180 days for theft of property and pay $3,000 in restitution. That time will run consecutively to three years TDOC probation for aggravated assault and 11-29 probation for shoplifting. He was ordered to stay out of Dollar General.
Jason Walker was handed a three-year TDOC probationary sentence for felon in possession of a firearm.
Rebecca Diane Wilder must serve 180 days for violating probation.
John Kevin Bohr was handed an 11-29 probationary sentence and must serve 30 days for methamphetamine (possess or casual exchange). He must pay $750 and court costs and undergo an alcohol and drug assessment. Running consecutively will be two 11-29 probationary sentences and two 30-days in jail for possession of methamphetamine.
Randy H. Fults entered a best interest plea on a theft charge. He was handed a three-year TDOC probationary sentences and must pay $13,376 in restitution.
Krista Shea Hodges was sentenced to eight years’ probation and must serve 90 days for methamphetamine (manufacture, deliver, sell, possession with intent). She must pay $2,000 and court costs.
Chase Turner was sentenced to two years TDOC probation and must pay $3,000 in restitution for theft of property.
Jason Hobbs was handed three concurrent 8-year probationary sentences and must serve 364 days for possession of methamphetamine. He must also pay $2,000 and court costs.
Tyler David Shannon settled a laundry list of charges, and all sentences are to run concurrently:
For theft, Shannon was ordered to serve 364 days and pay restitution.
For possession of methamphetamine (manufacture, deliver, sell, possession with intent), Shannon was handed 8 years TDOC at 100 percent and must pay $2,000 and court costs.
For leaving the scene of an accident, Shannon was ordered to serve 364 days and pay restitution.
For possession of methamphetamine (manufacture, deliver, sell, possession with intent), Shannon was handed 8 years TDOC at 100 percent and must pay $2,000 and court costs.
For possession of methamphetamine (manufacture, deliver, sell, possession with intent), Shannon was handed 8 years TDOC at 100 percent and must pay $2,000 and court costs.
