Monday, July 13

There will be a joint meeting of the county’s Budget and Finance and Financial Management committees at 5:30 p.m. Meetings are held at Warren County Administrative Building on Locust Street.

Tuesday, July 14

The city’s Safety Committee is slated to meet at 6:50 p.m. to consider the purchase of an F-150 from Ford for the Drug Fund. At 6:55 p.m., the city’s Parks and Recreation Committee will meet to consider purchase of a Turf Tiger Scag Mower and consider cooling tower maintenance plan with Lee Company for the Milner Center Cooling Tower.

Board of Mayor and Aldermen will hold its regular session at 7 p.m. Among the items on the agenda will be the final vote to purchase 56 water customers from Warren County Utility District and a request by Junior Auxiliary to hold Sip and Saveur Downtown on Sept. 26, 2026. All city meetings are held at City Hall in Downtown McMinnville.

The county’s Building and Grounds Committee will meet at 4:30 p.m. Among the items on the agenda: discuss a Three Star Mall lease and discuss space at the Health Department.

Wednesday, July 15

McMinnville Church of God will host a VBS from July 15-18, Rainforest Falls “Exploring the Nature of God” from 6-8:15 p.m. Who: grade pre-K through 12th. Text 931-205-7089 for bus transportation.

Thursday, July 16

Warren County Master Gardeners Association will meet at 6 p.m. at Warren County Administrative Building on Locust Street. Members meet on the third Thursday of each month, gathering at the fairgrounds during summer months and at the Magnolia Room of the admin building during the rest of the year. Anyone completing the master gardener class can join. The next class is slated for the fall of 2026. Contact Heath Nokes for more info: 931-473-8484. Families in Crisis will host a Sexual Assault Support Group from 6-8 p.m. at 101 W Main St. The group offers survivors a safe space to receive support, take part in healing activities, increase self-esteem, and learn coping skills to empower them on their journey.

Saturday, July 18

Viola Fire Department and Viola Homecoming host its annual Truck and Tractor Pull at 7 p.m. Several MTPA sanctioned classes, as well as a 10,000 Hot Farm Stock Tractors unsanctioned class. Tickets are available at the gate: $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, and children 5 and under are free.

Rose's Rolling Pin will host a bread-baking workshop on in the Community Room at 110 S. Court Square in McMinnville. Three two-hour sessions will be offered from 9-11 a.m., 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 1-3 p.m. The cost is $55 with a $20 deposit required to reserve a spot. The Warren County Genealogical and Historical Association will hold its monthly meeting at 2 p.m. in the Magnolia Room of the Warren County Administration Building, 201 Locust St. The meeting will feature a special salute to America's 250th birthday with a Revolutionary War-themed show-and-tell. Attendees are invited to share information about a Revolutionary War ancestor, wear period clothing or red, white and blue attire, and enjoy refreshments. Visitors are welcome.

Sunday, July 19

Bethel Hill Baptist Church will hold its Vacation Bible School Sunday through Tuesday, July 19-21. The church is located at1137 W. Green Hill Rd. in McMinnville. Activities are scheduled from 6-8 p.m. each evening. Dinner will be provided, and the community is invited to attend.

Tent Revival, July 10-22 at 7 p.m. nightly. This is its 15th year, and the event has moved to a new location. It is now located at 1100 Smithville Hwy in the parking lot behind Walgreen’s and next to Saki Hibachi & Steakhouse.

Thursday, July 23

Prayer at the Fountain will be held at 7 p.m. at the fountain in downtown McMinnville. The event will feature worship music led by Destinee and Matthew Dasaro, with a message from Pastor David Kilgore. Those unable to attend in person can watch online through the Prayer at the Fountain Facebook group. For more information, contact Debbie Young at (931) 259-2054.

Sports

Registration is now open for the McMinnville Fall 2026 Co-Ed Adult Soccer League at the Milner Recreation Center. It will continue through Aug. 9. Fee is $80 per player. All participants will receive a player card. The season will feature seven games played on Saturday nights between August and October, with 25-minute halves. Registration is open for the McMinnville Youth Soccer Fall 2026 season through July 19. Late registration will be available July 20-26. The registration fee is $70 per child, with additional children in the same family discounted to $65 each. The league offers divisions ranging from U3/U4 through U15-U18. Age groups are determined by birth year, and players must be at least 3 years old by Aug. 29 to participate. Registration information is available through McMinnville Parks and Recreation and McMinnville Youth Soccer. Heavenly Closet Thrift Store is open Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 100 Market Street, adjacent to the Farmer’s Market. The organization’s soup kitchen is open Mondays and Fridays, from 11:30 a.m. until noon each day, at 218 E Main St. Proceeds from the thrift store fund the soup kitchen’s efforts. Volunteers and donations are always accepted. The group is part of the “Helping Hands” ministry.
