The Treehouse takes root

Here’s news to shout from the treetops. The Treehouse on Sparta Street is almost ready to open.

Like many things, getting the restaurant and whole foods market finished has taken longer than expected, but owners Michael and Jackie Wiener are almost done.

“We have seven kids between us, so we know what a challenge it is to go out and grab something to eat as a family,” said Michael. “Kids have a timer. After a few minutes they’re done, and you have to hurry up and eat. It won’t be like that here. This will be a place where kids can be kids. They can run around and have fun. We want it to be a positive atmosphere.”

There’s a playground outside and a climbing wall inside. Seating will be available inside and out.

“Since we’ve been getting this ready, the common thing we’ve heard is there aren’t many places where you can hang out with your kids,” said Michael.

One menu staple will be pinsa, which is a flatbread that’s a lighter and crunchier alternative to traditional pizza.

There will be burgers, chicken and traditional favorites, but also an emphasis on farm-to-table food with salads and bowls.

The main portion of their building was formerly a consignment shop so there’s been much work in getting it converted into a restaurant. The front portion will be a whole foods market that will also be a place for vendors to sell locally made products like soaps and jewelry.

Michael and Jackie are working feverishly to get The Treehouse open for business. An exact date has not been set, but they say it will be in July.

This will be an exciting addition to Warren County’s restaurant community and our downtown area.
