WCMS got back in the win column Tuesday night in Crossville.
Warren County Middle School got back to looking like the team that rolled through the opening weeks of the season Tuesday night.
The Lady Pioneers went on the road and swept Cumberland County 25-21, 27-25, improving to 11-5 overall while bouncing back from last week's loss at Stone Memorial.
"So grateful to be looking like we're getting back to where we were at the beginning of the season," said coach Bethany Mesaros.
Warren County used its serving to take control in the opening set. The Lady Pioneers finished the match with nine aces, seven coming in the first set.
Fallon Youngblood delivered three of those aces as WCMS pulled out the 25-21 victory. Ellie Dixon also finished the night with three aces, while Khloe Howell had two and Emma Boon added one.
The attack took over in the second set.
Dixon hammered down five of her team-high seven kills in the frame, while Boon had two of her three kills. Howell finished with two kills and Lillyanna Reagan added one as Warren County found offense from all over the court while fighting through a set that needed extra points to decide.
Youngblood helped keep everybody involved, handing out seven of her nine assists in the second set. Boon added five assists as WCMS survived the late battle to finish off the sweep 27-25.
"The girls did really well tonight. They both performed very well," said Mesaros. "We are still working on finding open parts of the court and being smart with our hits. I'm proud of the energy that they were bringing in the movement that they had on the court."
Lyvia Wilson continued to anchor the back row, finishing with a team-high 11 digs. Boon added three digs, while Youngblood, Dixon and Reagan had one apiece.
Howell also recorded Warren County's lone block.
The victory moved the Lady Pioneers to 11-5 overall and gives them some momentum heading into Thursday's rescheduled home match against Cannon County at 5 p.m.
