Three Pioneers impress at UTC

While the Pioneer skill players got their preseason tune-up in 7-on-7 work earlier in the week, three vital members of Warren County's line for this fall went into the trenches Friday at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Ethan Holder, Camron Holder and Ryan Romzek all competed at UTC's offensive line camp, getting a preview of the battles they'll be facing all season while also taking advantage of another opportunity to work in front of college coaches.

Coach Eric Belew believed it was a successful day, not just for the future of his team, but also for the future of their careers.

"It went really well," Belew said. "I feel like all three of their recruiting processes are going to take off early in the football season."

Ethan Holder already picked up his first scholarship offer from Sewanee last year, but it could be an even bigger fall now that his brother is back in the fold as well. The Holders will be looking to pave the way for a Pioneer offense that should be more dangerous than ever in the run game with dual-threat quarterback AJ Whitman taking the controls this year.

Romzek can dish out the pancakes too.

He made a big impression in his debut season last year and returns to anchor a position Belew believes could become the strength of the team. Warren County brings back four of its five offensive line starters from last season and also has a large freshman class looking to make a major leap onto the varsity scene this fall.
