Coaches show to feature Belew, Thrower this fall
When the Pioneers kick off this fall, Warren County football fans won't just hear what happened on Friday nights. They'll get to hear why it happened.
Studio 605 Productions, part of the C&S Brokerages and Media Company umbrella, is expanding its Pioneer football coverage this season with a weekly coaches show featuring Warren County coach Eric Belew and former Pioneer standout Michael Thrower, giving fans an inside look at the X's and O's behind each game throughout the 2026 season.
The show, hosted by Jeff Simmons, will air each week and serve as a film-room style discussion, breaking down the previous game, looking ahead to the next opponent and giving viewers a chance to hear directly from the coach leading the Pioneers into Year 2.
“When I was coaching, one of my favorite things was getting to sit with people and talk ball. And even now, years after leaving coaching, I still like talking ball. Most coaches do,” said Chris Sullens, owner of C&S Brokerages and Media Company. “Coach Belew has been gracious with his time and I think the addition of Michael Thrower is going to be great for us. I don’t think you’re going to be able to get the level of football insight they’ll provide anywhere else.”
Thrower, one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in Warren County history, will bring a unique perspective to the program.
After starring for the Pioneers, Thrower continued his career at Lindsey Wilson College before moving into the college coaching ranks, where he was part of a national championship staff and multiple conference championships. Now back home in Warren County, he'll join the football broadcast team to provide weekly analysis alongside Belew.
"I'm excited to just sit down and talk ball," Thrower said. "It's been two years removed from coaching, so I’m getting a little bit of the itch just to be around football. This is a way for me to get back around Pioneer football that's given a lot to me. I'm excited just to talk about the game, talk X's and O's, see what the Pioneers are doing . . . Just talking that type of lingo gets me fired up."
For Belew, the weekly show will provide another avenue to connect with Pioneer Nation, which he believes plays a major role in Warren County football.
"When you turn around and see that support, it's really special," Belew said. "It matters. People can say whatever they want, but the crowd matters. It gives your team a huge advantage when they know people are invested. Our kids get the full high school football experience because the community is involved. That's what's special about Warren County."
The format is expected to go beyond the typical coaches show.
Rather than simply reviewing scores and statistics, Thrower's coaching background and access to film provided by Belew will allow viewers to hear discussions about offensive concepts, defensive adjustments, personnel decisions and game-planning throughout the season.
During the show's debut appearance, Thrower and Belew immediately dove into conversations about simplifying offensive terminology, teaching players to play fast and the details that separate high school and college football, giving viewers a preview of the type of football conversations they can expect every week.
The weekly program will become part of Studio 605's expanding football coverage this fall, joining live game broadcasts and the Warren County Sports Authority as the local sports media company continues to grow its coverage of Pioneer athletics. As previously announced, the WCSA will be teaming with Upper Cumberland Reporter for football broadcasts this fall.
The coaches show will begin prior to the opening of the 2026 football season, with weekly episodes featuring Belew, Thrower and Simmons throughout the fall. The plan is to extend the coaches show format throughout the 2026-27 school year, adding in multiple leaders of the Pioneers and Lady Pioneers.
