Speed was a factor in a single vehicle crash on Lagoon Drive today at approximately 11:20 a.m.

“They were heading eastbound on Lagoon Drive. The driver admitted that he was driving about 10 to 15 miles over the speed limit. So, he was doing approximately 45 miles. He told me that he hit a bump and lost control. He said he tried to correct, but the vehicle flipped and landing in the yard,” said McMinnville Patrol Officer Joshua Mullins.

According to witnesses, the 2005 Nissan Sentra flipped more than once before landing on its top in the front yard of a home on the corner of Lagoon Drive and Chapel Drive.

The driver was identified as 18-year-old Jon Pulley. He was cited for due care, no insurance, and given a citation in lieu of arrest for driving without a license.

The passenger was Kevin Ahlgard, 20.

Both had minor injuries but refused transport to Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Hospital by Warren County EMS.
