Three no-shows at new commissioner orientation

A mandatory meeting for all new Warren County commissioners attracted one, that being Commissioner Traye Cope.

“It was announced during the last full commission,” stated Legislative Committee Chairman Christy Ross, when asked if those commissioners may have inadvertently missed notification. “When we were sworn in, I mentioned to everyone to keep an eye out for a Legislative Committee meeting that would be mandatory for all new commissioners. Additionally, an email notification was sent out.”

This meeting was a mandatory orientation for all new commissioners because the state requires it. Missing were commissioners Caleb Graves, Stephen Potter and James Zahn.

After convening the meeting, committee members Ross, Carlene Brown, Blaine Wilcher and Carl D. Bouldin voted to reschedule the session for Monday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m., immediately following the county’s regular monthly session. Committee member Ken Martin was absent.
