Tax Free Weekend

Tennessee’s annual tax-free weekend takes place from Friday, July 31, at 12:01 a.m., through Sunday, Aug. 22, at 11:59 p.m. During the event, shoppers can save nearly 10 percent on qualifying clothing, school supplies, and computers or tablets for personal use.

Clothing, school supplies and school art supplies, qualify when each item costs $100 or less. Qualifying computers and tablets are those priced at $1,500 or less. The price limit applies to each item and not the total cost of the shopping cart.

Online purchases also qualify as tax-free.
