Storm damage

Residents are cleaning up after a weekend of storms ripped through Warren County taking down limbs and trees and causing other damage.

According to Warren County Highway Superintendent Levie Glenn, the worst hit in the county is likely on Shangri la Lane off Manchester Highway.

“Several trees were down, tops sheared off, and corn was laid down on the ground,” he stated. “The corn was flat in the ground. One big limb fell on a house out there.”

When asked if the damage could have straight-line winds, he added, “It looks like it could have been. We had a few scattered trees down in the county, maybe three or four, but nothing compared to the damage in that area. We had to work at night to open the road up. We’ve got to get out there today and clean everything up.”

Pictured, also, is a large tree that had fallen across the railroad tracks next to Cadillac Lane.

Warren County Way reached out to McMinnville Public Works Department regarding storm damage reported in the city. A voicemail message was left for Director Lyndon Bussell.
