Stone Man Road wreck

The condition of a man and a woman injured during a noontime 4-wheeler wreck on Harrison Ferry Mountain is unknown.

Warren County Way was at the scene of the wreck and at the landing zone established at the old Joyce’s Market.

The woman called in the accident to Warren County E-911 at approximately 12:15 p.m. via a cell phone. As relayed by the dispatcher to emergency personnel, she was just off the roadway and plotting in the area of 1448 Stone Man Road. The male occupant, according to the victim had traveled down the hillside.

“While she can hear him, she can’t see him,” the dispatcher stated. “She believes her back is broken.”

Some emergency personnel had a difficult time locating the exact location of the couple, because the address given took responders to a graveled sideroad and not the area of the wreck.

“She says someone just passed her,” the dispatcher stated, who instructed the law enforcement officer to turn around.

Once located, reinforcements and extrication equipment were called in to assist. It was stated that the 4-wheeler was approximately 50 feet down, the female had been located and was being pulled from the hillside, and assistance would be needed to retrieve the man.

It appeared that the 4-wheeler was traveling down Harrison Ferry Mountain on Stone Man Road and left the roadway to the right.

A landing zone was established at old Joyce’s Market. Deputies shut down both lanes of travel in that area. The victims were transported by Warren County EMS in separate ambulances. Two Lifeforce helicopters landed on Highway 8 consecutively to retrieve one and then the other.

Traffic was back up at least a mile.

Update: according to a family member, the names of the individuals are Christina White and Ben Sadler.
