Reporter Diaries
Hello, my Warren County family. I think it’s time for another segment of Reporter Diaries. Let’s move from government to being an adrenaline junky.
After years of covering both city and county governments and anything else that came my way, Duane Sherrell departed the Southern Standard, and I took over responding to motor vehicle wrecks and structure fires. This girl is not a one-trick pony when it comes to reporting the news. I passed off Warren County government (sorry guys) to someone else. I needed some stimulation in my life. Government meetings are 1,000 hours of boring and one hour of excitement. I wanted an adrenaline boost and discovered that I liked it.
When it comes to motor vehicle wrecks, I started coming up with names for some of the more memorable ones. Until now, I haven’t shared those names with anyone. So, count yourself lucky. Here are some: “Cliffhanger,” “Wrong Turn,” “Creek” and “Hoarders,” are just a few. Up first, I’d like to tell you about “Children of the Corn.”
Comedian Jeff Foxworthy once stated, “If an episode of ‘Walker, Texas Ranger’ change your life, you might be a redneck.” It did not, Jeff, but “Children of the Corn” both scared and scarred me.
