When asked about the total number of individuals taken into custody over the six-month timeframe, Summers could not give a specific number but stated that the operation included a lot of late nights and weekends over the last six months.

“We just wanted to see what we could get accomplished as far as cleaning up as much as we can. We know that as soon as these people were arrested today, someone stepped up to take their place. That’s just the way it goes.”

Removed from the streets were various illicit drugs, ranging from methamphetamine to crack cocaine, and prescription medications. Individuals were not isolated to just one spot in the city but were located and taken into custody all over Warren County.

The name Operation Freedom Revoked was a nod to America’s 250th birthday celebrating this nations freedom.

“It’s not easy to come up those names,” said Summers, laughingly. “We really liked that one.”

In a press release Matt Colvard, District Attorney General, he stated, “Methamphetamine and other illegal narcotics are a scourge in our community. These drugs destroy families, friendships, and lives. Our office is committed to making sure that those individuals that peddle methamphetamine and illegal narcotics in our community go to prison or, in a few cases, begin a path to sobriety.”
