While Warren County Way has been unable to officially verify that all remaining O’Charley’s locations are closing, the ones in Owensboro, Cookeville and Hopkinsville have announced closures.
According to Warren First 931, all are closing.
“We are following a developing story, news, involving the O’Charley’s restaurants,” stated Kelly Slaughter, in a breaking news Facebook post. “A reliable source with knowledge of the situation is now claiming to Warren First 931 that O’Charley’s stores are allegedly preparing to close following the end of business Wednesday night, Sept. 9, at approximately 10 p.m.”
Her source claimed the closure includes all remaining O’Charley’s locations.
O’Charley’s has faced steep declines in same-store sales, low customer traffic, and rising operating costs. Over the last several years the restaurant chain has undergone downsizing. In August 2023, the Nashville-based chain closed 18 locations – about 17 percent of its portfolio – citing economic challenges, inflation, and low-performing stores. Earlier in 2023, roughly a third of its sites shut down.
