Renovations are underway for the old Southern Standard building on College Street. It was purchased by Wingate Group, Real Estate Firm.
“We acquired it in May,” said Brandon Wingate, founder, managing broker and CEO. “That building has a lot of potential. We have other projects going on, so we are quite busy. It took us some time, but we finally have the renovation underway. Things should move quickly now. I anticipate that it will be ready to lease in a month.”
The plan, says Wingate, is to give it a new look on the outside and conduct renovations on the inside to update it for future use.
It is a 12,825 square foot building with five bathrooms, which Wingate says makes the possibilities for its use endless.
“There are a lot of businesses that need storage or a warehouse, plus office. That size building is a perfect fit for commercial real estate. There is a need for that size building. A printing company or a police department. At one point, the funeral home was interested in it. At this point, there is no telling what the future holds, but the potential is endless for its use.”
He also suggested that HVAC companies in Murfreesboro might be looking to relocate to McMinnville due to the lower cost of doing business here and continued, “Maybe a building supply? They need buildings like this, as well. If you know of any business that might be interested, let me know.”
When ready, the building will be listed with Wingate Group, Real Estate Firm. It can be reached at 931-474-2500 and is located at 119 W. Main Street Suite 7 in McMinnville.
