Great Bodies Car Show and Swap Meet is slated for 10 a.m. at Champion Chevrolet. The rain date is Aug. 15. Organizer Blaine Wilcher says the show is for people who love good food and great cars. Proceeds benefit Families in Crisis.
Monday, Aug. 10
A joint meeting of the county’s Budget and Finance Committee and Financial Management Committee will meet at 5 p.m. to consider several items of business, including renewal of the School Nutrition Produce Agreement, approve piggyback of a Lawrence County School Nutrition Commodities bid, piggyback on an ambulance bid for WC EMS, an AF1 radio amendment, AF2 extrication safety gear grant and an GF4 Health Department Communications. This meeting will be held at Warren County Administrative Building on Locust Street.
Tuesday, Aug. 11
McMinnville Streets and Sanitation Committee will meet at 6:35 p.m. to consider three items of business: rental of Air Curtain Incinerator for brush, purchasing landscape material from Easy Tree Nursery for Potter Lane Park, and the purchase of a used oil container for the City Garage.
McMinnville Water and Sewer Committee will meet at 6:50 p.m. to consider purchase of two service trucks and flat beds for the Water and Sewer Department.
McMinnville Parks and Recreation Committee will meet at 6:55 p.m. to consider recommendation to hire The Yonder Mountain String Band to perform at Park Theater.
McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen will meet for its regular session at 7 p.m. Among the items of business: consider a request to close S. Court Square on Oct. 17 for the UT vs. Alabama game, an ordinance to amend Municipal Code and extend the timeframe in which a newly hired city administrator must become a city resident and allow an exception to that requirement, and appointments to the Alcoholic Beverage Board. All McMinnville government meetings are held on the second floor of city hall.

Caring Hearts United presents “See if you Remember,” a musical trip through time at Park Theater. Timeless songs, classic memories, feel good fun live on stage. Entertainment begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are general admission: $20. Call 931-607-9462 to purchase tickets or more information.
Relay for Life of Warren County begins at 4 p.m. at McMinnville Civic Center. Support a worthy cause, the purpose of the event is to raise funds for the American Cancer Society to support cancer research.
Chapter 1700 Fly/Drive/Bike/Walk/Craw/Hop-In Rain or Shine Breakfast will be held 7:30 to 10 a.m. at Warren County Veteran’s Memorial Airport. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, OJ and coffee. All pilots, EAA members, aviation buffs, and the public are welcome.

Heavenly Closet Thrift Store is open Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 100 Market Street, adjacent to the Farmer’s Market. The organization’s soup kitchen is open Mondays and Fridays, from 11:30 a.m. until noon each day, at 218 E Main St. Proceeds from the thrift store fund the soup kitchen’s efforts. Volunteers and donations are always accepted. The group is part of Helping Hands Ministry.
