TWRA urges boat safety this weekend
As we head into the Labor Day weekend, many of us will be spending time on the water. Before you cast off, take a moment to make safety your top priority. Be sure everyone on board has a properly fitted life jacket, check the weather forecast, and review your boat’s safety equipment – including lights, horns, and emergency supplies.
All children, 12 and under, must wear a life jacket on the boat at all times. Remember to boat sober, keep an eye out for swimmers and paddle crafts, and follow all posted speed limits and no-wake zones. With a little preparation and awareness, you can help ensure a fun, relaxing, and safe holiday on the water.
