If you’d like to inject pure adrenaline into your life, skydiving is now offered at Warren County Memorial Airport.
A new company called Middle Tennessee Skydiving is operating at the local airport and offering tandem jumps to anyone 18 and older.
What may be the thrill of a lifetime can be experienced for $250 per jump. No experience is required, and people can skydive into their 80s and 90s.
Leaping from an airplane has been incredibly popular thus far.
“People have been coming from all over – Nashville, Murfreesboro, Cookeville,” said airport manager Jim Dyer. “They’ve had a lot of business.”
The guys with Middle Tennessee Skydiving estimate they’ve gone on more than 3,000 tandem jumps in their skydiving careers and nearly everyone says the same thing once they’re on the ground. They wish they’d tried it sooner.
If you’d like to skydive, here’s how the process works.
Schedule an appointment by calling (629) 262-8151, or by going online at skydiving4fun.com. Spots are available in July.
When you arrive at Warren County Memorial Airport, it will take about 15 minutes to sign a waiver and watch a training video. That’s followed by 15 minutes of hands-on instruction.
Then it’s takeoff time! The plane will climb to 10,000 feet and that’s when you and your instructor jump out together.
It’s about a one-minute freefall and then a 3-5 minute glide to the ground once the parachute is pulled. Parachute landing takes place at the airport.
Media packages are available to remember the occasion. Photos are $80, a video is $100, or both photos and video can be purchased for $120.
Middle Tennessee Skydiving is operating full-time at our airport and attracting visitors to Warren County. For more information, call (629) 262-8151.
