Hutton part of New Clay Travis site
McMinnville native Jonathan Hutton is front and center in a new sports media venture launching this morning.
Clay Travis officially launches Sport & State today, unveiling SportandState.com and a daily lineup featuring several familiar names in sports talk. Hutton, a Warren County High School graduate who has built a successful career in Nashville sports media, is helping lead the way alongside longtime radio partner Chad Withrow.
Hutton & Withrow airs live from 7-9 a.m., serving as the first show in the new platform's daily lineup.
The move reunites Hutton and Withrow with Travis, whose history with both hosts stretches back well before any of them became established names in sports media.
"I started my radio career with Chad Withrow on the Tuesday night - when not pre-empted by Preds games - 104.5 the Zone ClayNation show. We were paid $50," Travis said. "Jonathan Hutton and I were sharing a hotel room when I launched Outkick. I'm excited to have both of them with me for Sport & State as we build out a great new sports media company."
For Hutton, Sport & State represents another major step in a broadcasting career that started close to home.
The McMinnville native attended Middle Tennessee State University and eventually becoming one of the most recognizable voices in Nashville sports media. Hutton spent more than a decade at 104.5 The Zone, where his work included extensive coverage of the Tennessee Titans and co-hosting roles on some of the station's signature shows.
In recent years, Hutton and Withrow have continued working together while expanding their reach beyond traditional terrestrial radio. Now they are among the faces of Travis' newest media venture.
Sport & State features five live shows each weekday. Following Hutton & Withrow from 7-9 a.m., Next Round Live airs from 9-11 a.m. The Clay and Buck Show follows from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., with The Clay Travis Show airing from 2-3 p.m. On Tilt with Kelly Stewart and Ariel Epstein closes the daily lineup from 3-5 p.m.
