Saturday, Oct. 10
POSTPONED: Warren County Sanitation Department was scheduled to host a free drive-through Recycling Roundup, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. However, the event had to be canceled due to the threat of severe weather conditions. A new date has yet to be set.
Warren County Recovery Fest 2026 is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Freedom Life Church McMinnville. This event is about bringing the community together to celebrate recovery, reduce stigma, connect people with resources, and show that hope and healing is possible. Sponsors are currently being accepted. The church is located at 310 Winding Way.
2nd Saturday on Main Street, Live Music, Shop, Dine and Enjoy. The event will start at 5 p.m. and end at 8 p.m.
A Celebration of Dottie West at The Park Theater, starting at 7 p.m. The event will include Larry Gatlin, Tess Frizzell, and Bobby Tomberlin. Frizzell is the granddaughter of West. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit Park Theater’s website.

World Migratory Bird Day at Rock Island State Park. If you want to attend, you can meet at the Collins River Trail Parking Area, $10 per person donation. The event will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
During Saturdays in October, follow George McGlothin, owner of Falcon Rest, as he recounts 37 years of ghostly experiences reported by visitors during an evening tour of the mansion. Is it haunted? You decide. The tour starts at 7 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 12
Warren County Highway Department will close Cooper Road to replace a box culvert. The road will be closed to through traffic from Doyle Frazier road to Jacksboro Road. Work will begin at 6 a.m. and will be completed as soon as possible.
The county’s Corrections Partnership will meet at 3:30 p.m. Among the items on the agenda are jail population update and discuss any building issues. The meeting is held at Warren County Jail Training Room.
The county’s Tourism Authority Board will meet at 4 p.m. to receive an update on the County Magazine cover. A location was not provided.
The county’s Building and Grounds Committee will meet at 5 p.m. to review a report from the Maintenance Department, discuss floor renovation at the UT-TSU Extension Office, and discuss any other building issues. The meeting will be held at Warren County Administrative Offices building on Locust Street.
The county’s Legislative Committee will meet at 6 p.m.. The meeting is open to the public, but is mandatory for all new commissioners. This meeting will be held at the Warren County Administrative Office building on Locust Street.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol and McMinnville Police Department will conduct a Child Safety Check in the parking lot of the McMinnville Drivers Testing Center, from 4-6 p.m. This event is part of the 2026 National Faith & Blue Weekend, an initiative that encourages meaningful interactions between law enforcement officers and local residents.

Tuesday, Oct. 13
The county’s Highway and Bridge Committee will meet at 4 p.m. to discuss any road projects or issues. Meeting held at Warren County Highway Department.
The county’s Economic and Agriculture Committee will meet at 5 p.m. Among the items on the agenda are to review the reports from Industrial Development Board, Agriculture Extension, Fair Board, Airport and Soil Conservation. Meeting held at Warren County Administrative Offices Building on Locust Street.
There will be a joint meeting of the county’s Budget and Finance Committee and Financial Management Committee at 6 p.m. Among the items on the agenda: renew jail food service for another year, approve TSBA three-year agreement for WC Schools, discuss health insurance renewal for county, award TACN Radio bid for EMA. The meeting will be held at the Warren County Administrative Offices building on Locust Street.
The city of McMinnville will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. to hear comments regarding rezoning of 503. W. Main Street, followed by a second public hearing at 6:45 p.m. to hear comments regarding amendments to the zoning ordinance pertaining to outdoor storage and submittal requirements. City meetings are held on the second floor of city hall on Main Street.
The McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen will meet at 7 p.m. On the agenda: accept a Firefighters Grant totaling $105,691, consider a contract renewal with AXON for five years for 29 AXON body worn cameras for the police department, consider the zoning reclassification of 503 W. Main Street, to consider a change to the city’s zoning ordinance as it pertains to outdoor storage and submittal requirements, and accept a Healthy Active Rural Tennessee grant in the amount of $148,000, among other items. City meetings are held on the second floor of city hall on Main Street.

Wednesday, Oct. 14
There will be a Meet and Greet with McMinnville Children’s Museum at 11:30 a.m. The event will take place at Warren County Chamber of Commerce on Court Square in its community room.
Early voting for the Nov. 3 election begins. It continues through Thursday, Oct. 29. Locations and hours: County Administration Building’s Early Voting Room - 201 Locust Street - on all days. During the last seven days of the early voting cycle, there will be two satellite locations: Centertown Community Center - 92 Gilbert Street - and Morrison Ruritan Club - 121 West Maple Street. All location hours: Mondays (11 a.m. - 8 p.m.); Tuesday through Fridays (9 a.m. - 6 p.m.); Saturdays (9 a.m. - 12 noon).
Thursday, Oct. 15
Burn permits are required beginning today until May 15. Permits are free and available online at BurnSafeTN.org or by calling 877-350-2876 Monday through Friday during business hours. Permits, when given, are valid for one day only, and the fire must be completely extinguished by midnight on the day of the permit. If burning continues on another day, a new permit must be obtained. Burning without a permit is a Class C misdemeanor. Permits are not required for burning in containers such as a metal barrel with a ½ inch mesh screen cover.

McMinnville Action To Create Housing (MATCH) will host a Homeless Summit at Park Theater at 6 p.m. One purpose of the event is to share the best practices for effectively ending homelessness. It’s Homecoming Day in Warren County. The Homecoming Parade is slated for 2 p.m. on Main Street. There will be a Pioneer Pep Rally at 2:30 p.m. on The Lot in court square. Let’s celebrate Pioneer Pride!
Monday, Oct. 19
The county Education Committee will meet at 5 p.m. Among the items on the agenda: review the Warren County School System’s budget, review the functions of the Warren County School Board, and receive an update on Current Capital Budget projects. The meeting will be held at the Warren County Administrative Offices building on Locust Street.
Tuesday, Oct. 20
There will be an American Red Cross Blood Drive at First United Methodist Church, from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Register for the event on the American Red Cross website. The church is located at 200 West Main Street.
Wednesday, Oct. 21
Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will hold the second annual Tennessee Biodiversity Summit. This year’s theme is Moving the Needle: Wins in Conservation and includes a dynamic lineup of speakers and topics. This one-day event is inclusive. Anyone with an interest in the outdoors is invited to attend, including hunters, anglers, birdwatchers, paddle-craft enthusiasts, and backyard gardeners. Additionally, 21 educational booths from top agencies across the state including The Nature Conservancy, State Parks, and more, will be on hand to answer questions and direct attendees towards actionable steps to benefit wildlife. There will be a tribute to George Strait, presented by On Fire Concerts, at Park Theater at 7 p.m. The event will feature Howard Decker, who tours nationwide delivering the iconic looks, the sound, the essence, and spirit of George Strait. Big Gun: #1 AC/DC Tribute at Park Theater, from 7-9 p.m. The band formed in 2001 with the goal of creating the most authentic tribute to one of the greatest bands in the world. Main Street McMinnville will host its annual Downtown Trick or Treating. Trick or Treating for our Special Friends is from 10-11:30 a.m. Look for the Teal Pumpkins in participating business windows. Several downtown businesses will have sensory-friendly options during this time. Trick or Treating will also be offered from 3-5 p.m.
There will be a Sobriety Checkpoint on State Route 30 at State Route 127 by Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Graceland Portable Buildings of Morrison will host a Halloween-related event from 3-6 p.m. Bring your family’s trick-or-treaters for a family-friendly and safe alternative to going door-to-door. This will be the final night for Cedar Grove Fire Department’s Haunted Trail, which is available every Friday and Saturday night in October. Opens at dark and closes at 11 p.m. Admission is $15 per person. Kids 5 and under are free. Each paid ticket gets one glow stick. Additional glow sticks are $1 each. This is a fundraiser for the department. Importantly, this event is cash only. The trail is located at 1878 Bone Cave Mountain Road in Rock Island. McCully’s Amazing Acres in Sparta will host its annual Pumpkin Destruction Day, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Smash it. Throw it. Feed it. The ultimate fall fun for all ages. Bring a bat or just a smile. Hayride, food, 40+ activities, animal petting and feeding, giant slides, bounce pillow, and much more.
The fifth annual Autumn Harvest Pageant begins at 10 a.m. Held at Warren County High School, this is a semi-glitz pageant hosted by R&R Pageants.
Monday, Nov. 9
The 16th annual Wonderland of Trees begins at Three Star Mall. Presented by Caring Hearts United “Bringing Assistance to Hospice Patients.” Bid on beautiful trees and other items until Nov. 14. The store is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., offering slightly used items at major discounts.
Silver and Gold Band will be performing at Three Star Mall, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., during the Wonderland of Trees event. The band is the oldest community band in Tennessee.

There will be a Wonderland of Trees Christmas Trivia Night at Three Star Mall, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Test your knowledge about Christmas.
