Saturday, Aug. 22
There will be a Beersheba Springs Arts & Craft Fair on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday, Aug. 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Beersheba Springs United Methodist Assembly.
Viola Fire Department and Viola Homecoming host its annual Truck and Tractor Pull at 7 p.m. Gates open at 4 p.m. Several MTPA sanctioned classes, as well as a 10,000 Hot Farm Stock Tractors unsanctioned class. Tickets are available at the gate: $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, and children 5 and under are free.
Tennessee’s Free Hunting Day. Residents can enjoy a full day of hunting license-free as squirrel season officially opens. It’s the perfect chance to get outside, try something new, or reconnect with a classic Tennessee tradition. Whether you’re a seasonal hunter or someone who’s curious to give it a try, this day is designed for you.
Sunday, Aug. 23
There will be an Evening Pontoon Cruise at Rock Island State Park at 4 p.m. The cruise is a two-hour excursion from King’s Landing Boat Ramp to the Rock Island and back. Along the way, participants will see the Great Falls hydro-electric plant, hidden area caves, historic bridges, the dam, places to eat and the Rock Island. Cost is $15. Monday, Aug. 24
There will be a Morning Hike on the Moonshine Trail in Rock Island State Park at 8:30 a.m. The morning adventure offers a peaceful opportunity to experience the park’s natural beauty while enjoying the cooler temperatures and the sounds of wildlife waking up for the day. The hike is suitable for most fitness levels, but participants should be prepared for uneven terrain and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Bring water and dress appropriately for the weather. Tickets are free. Register on the park’s website.
Tuesday, Aug. 25
The city’s Safety Committee will meet at 6:50 p.m. to consider renewing the contract with Cellebrite Inc.
The city’s Water and Sewer Committee will meet at 6:55 p.m. to consider purchase of two service trucks and flat beds for the McMinnville Water and Sewer Department.
McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen will meet for its regular session at 7 p.m. Two items are on the agenda: swear in Justin Scott as interim city administrator and an ordinance to amend city code to change the residency requirement for future city administers. All city meetings are held on the second floor of city hall.
Thursday, Aug. 27
Warren County Board of Education will meet at 5 p.m. for its regular session. Among the lengthy list of item to be considered: Capturing Kids Heats service agreement, Happy Feet Sky Jumpers LLC agreement, Lifetouch 2026-27 yearbook sales agreement, TN Dept. of Education SAE Act Compliance Assurances, School Nutrition Agreement to furnish food service for the At-Risk Food Service Program, Tam-Witmark Musical Performance Agreement, TCAT Dual Enrollment Agreement, WCHS 2026-27 Student Handbook, consider surplus items, and employees of the year recognitions.
Friday, Aug. 28
Warren Arts presents Matilda Jr. The Musical on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Park Theater at 7 p.m. It’s the story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires will have audiences rooting for the “revolting children” who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesson.
Saturday, Aug. 29
Farm to Table is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Farmers Market. The Main Street McMinnville event is a special dinner that features delicious, locally sourced food from farmer and restaurants to celebrate the best of what the community has to offer. The dinner also serves as a fundraiser supporting downtown revitalization efforts, including grant matching funds for façade improvements, streetscape projects, and the creation of community spaces downtown. Main Street McMinnville member tickets are $90, non-member tickets are $100, platinum tickets $800 and can be purchased on Zeffy.
Sports
McMinnville-Warren County Chamber of Commerce will host a Golf Classic on Sept. 21. $425 per team (lunch, red tee and mulligans included). Prizes for winners, straightest drive contest, and closest to the pin. Sponsorship opportunities available: $425 for teams, $100 tent sponsors, $50 closest to hole, straightest drive, and hole, and sponsor (yard sign size). The event will be held at 616 Country Club Drive in McMinnville. Register by calling 931-473-6611.

Tickets are now on sale for 2026 Sip & Saveur, a Wine & Art Crawl in Downtown McMinnville. The event is slated for Saturday, Sept. 26, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Hosted by Junior Auxiliary of McMinnville, drinker tickets are $40 and non-drinker tickets are $20. They can be purchased online, any Junior Auxiliary member, Security Federal Bank downtown, or at Donald Hillis Auction & Realty.
Warren County Master Gardeners’ Association meets on the third Thursdays of each month. During the summer months, June-August, the association meets at the fairgrounds. The remaining months, it meets in the Magnolia Room of Warren County Administrative Building on Locust Street. Anyone who completes the master gardener course can join. Dues are $20 annually.
